About NYPD
At ReadyToLeadAfrica, we advance constitutional democracy initiatives, credible elections, intra-African youth development, and the use of civic tech solutions in solving social problems. In this regard, we continue to collaborate tirelessly with private and public institutions locally and internationally, through research, programs, and events.
In line with the above, and with the mission to advance youth leadership in the development of sustainable peace in Nigeria, Africa and the world over, ReadyToLeadAfrica has entered into partnership with the leadership of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme, a program developed by the Nigerian government to engage Nigerian graduates in nation building and the development of the country. Kindly find the RTLA-NYSC Partnership letter in the Appendix below.
As the first step, this partnership will lead to the hosting of the first ever National Youth Peace Dialogue (NYPD), and signing of the Youth-Led Presidential Peace Accord ahead of the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria.
This will be followed by the Unveiling of the National Youth Peace Symbol; a 15-foot Peace Emblem which will be strategically positioned at a major entry point into your State, to serve as a perpetual reminder to indigenes and visitors alike, of the commitment of the people of your State in general, and your administration in particular, to a violence-free Nigeria.
Concluding the event – yet continuing this grand and timely project, will be the establishment of the first ever NYSC Peacebuilding Community Development Service (CDS) Group, which will be managed by the NYSC) and supervised by ReadyToLeadAfrica across the 774 LGAs of Nigeria. Through this CDS Group, successive Batches of Corps Members will be especially privileged to lead peacebuilding efforts within their host communities within and beyond your State, throughout their period of national service.

The Youth Against Electoral Violence Accord – YAEVA (Youth Led Peace Accord) is a ReadyToLeadAfrica Peace Building Initiative designed to bring youths into the promotion of peace during elections via the signing of a peace accord by leading Governorship candidates during elections. The youth-led peace accord has been signed in 3 states so far with Anambra State as the 4th state where the youth-led peace accord was signed. The Youth Against Electoral Violence Accord – YAEVA (Youth Led Peace Accord) is similar to the Rev Kukah, Gen. Gowon and Gen. Abudsallami led peace accord signed by candidates during elections. YAEVA as it is also called, brings together candidates, youth groups, political leaders, and citizens to commit candidates to the tenets of peace during and after the elections.
